The Workshop

Scent is part of how we experience the world.

This workshop is an introduction to understanding and creating it. Whether you are discovering perfumery for the first time or looking to deepen your understanding, the process adapts to your level.

This is not a class built around pre-made fragrance oils. You will work with raw materials used in professional perfumery.

It also makes a thoughtful and memorable gift, an experience that stays with you.

The Experience

  • Deep focus and presence: people often describe it as getting completely in the zone
  • For creative people, it tends to open something unexpected. Scent thinks differently than image or language. It is lateral, associative, and deeply personal
  • Not a demonstration. A genuine immersion into the creative life of a perfumer, with the real materials and the real process

  • 03

Perfumery workshop in Salt Lake City

About the Instructor

Dimitri

A French perfumer based in Salt Lake City. His relationship with scent began more than twenty years ago. Across different careers and different chapters of life, it remained a constant thread. As the founder and creative nose behind HEXEH, an independent fragrance studio, he has explored perfumery through self-directed study, formal training, and years of hands-on practice.

His workshops reflect that same approach. No gatekeeping, just genuine immersion. He believes that understanding scent is something anyone can develop, and focuses on guiding each participant through that discovery.

We are beyond lucky to have Dimitri in SLC

If you are a perfume nerd, you will go nuts for this class (like we did). If you don’t care about fragrance, you will leave wanting to become a master perfumer (like we witnessed others experience). Dimitri is a fabulous teacher and craftsman and he literally grew up and trained in Grasse, France, one of the fragrance capitals of the world. He is insightful, fun, educational, and generous with his time. And he will ensure you don’t make a terrible fragrance. We can’t wait to go back and do it again!
